BIOG: Tik completed his PhD in Immunology at King’s College London under the supervision of Professor Francesco Dazzi. The work was to understand the in vivo immunomodulation of human mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) and identify novel mechanism-based biomarkers for better prognosis in MSC therapy.

RESEARCH: Inspired by his PhD, he has a growing interest in understanding how the stroma impacts immunity during cancer progression and what are up-stream factors determining these stromal functions. Joining the Shields lab, he will be characterizing their composition and functions, particularly the fibroblast populations, along with the cancer trajectory in order to reveal feature to improve cancer treatment including immunotherapy.
